                        How to use hptrm3.exe

Note:
============
    1. We strongly recommend using the hptdet.exe utility before attempting to recover the array. This utility will save an image of the current RAID configuration of the selected disk.

    2. This tool is only applicable the HPT RAID controllers, based on the HPT374 IC.

    3. This tool only can recover RAID arrays, which were created with the RAID5/RAID10 supported BIOS
       and RAID Management utilities (older versions require a different utility - contact HighPoint Customer support for more information).

Description of the menu "Array":
=================================
    1. Array->Create: This command is used to recreate the array.

    2. Array->Delete: This command erases the RAID information on the selected hard disk drive(s) - without
       deleting the partition information and files from the hard disk drive(s).

To recover the broken array:
==============================
    1. Boot up the system from a floppy diskette or CD-ROM into DOS mode .
    2. Run hptrm3.exe.
    3. Rereate the RAID array using the Creat command - please make sure the same order, same hard disks, and same
       block size are selected (settings based on the array's orignal configuration).
    4. Exit and reboot the system. After rebooting, check the status of the RAID array using the controller's BIOS (control + h).
        If the array appears to functional, boot into the OS, and check the data stored on the array.

Summary:

 First, use the "Delete" command to remove previous RAID information on the selected hard drive,
 then Use the "Create" command to recreate the RAID array - making sure to select the disks in the proper order.
 Finally, select a block size (based on the original array's settings). Once complete, reboot the system and make sure the controller's BIOS now
recognizes the disks as an array. If the array is intact, boot to the OS and attempt to access the data stored on the array.
